Earth Conservation Corps

The Earth Conservation Corps restores two threatened resources—our environment and our youth. They partner with government, corporate, environmental, and community organizations to clean up the environment, educate and train young Corps members, open doors to employment, and strengthen communities by increasing civic awareness and action, while creating pride of place.
Challenge
Sustainable conservation is nearly impossible without a concurrent investment in people, and the Earth Conservation Corps needed to ramp up fundraising to meet its goals.
Enter Reingold
Team Reingold crafted funding proposals and built the organization's development capacity. We wrote the organization's Squad handbooks, designed the job skills curriculum, facilitated board meetings, organized and publicized major media events, and conducted an executive search for the Corps' chief operating officer. We also mentored kids and helped pull trash from the Anacostia River.
Results
The Corps raised more than $8.5 million, enabling more than 800 young people to graduate from the year-long program and collectively earn $2.5 million in AmeriCorps Education Awards.
