National Event Sounds Call to Age Strong! Live Long!
National Older Americans Month may not sound like cause for excitement, but this May Reingold is helping to invigorate this annual celebration of the strength, vitality, and countless contributions of our nation's 70 million senior citizens. And because it's for everyone, you can help us encourage older Americans to Age Strong! and Live Long!
To generate enthusiasm for the event, Reingold helped the U.S. Administration on Aging plan and market a contest that invited the public to submit photographs, poems/prose, or videos about a "Recipe for Strength"—whether their own or one exemplified by an older adult who inspires them. The public will have a chance to vote for one of the top ten entries in each category, and the three winning entries will be posted on the AoA website. We're also promoting and coordinating a May 27 walk in the National Mall, featuring exhibits and fitness demonstrations for healthy living.
Visit the event microsite at OlderAmericansMonth.org to vote on the Recipe for Strength entries and register for the Age Strong! Live Long! Walk. We'll see you there!
