Online Forum Supports Breast Reconstruction Patients

Almost 70 percent of women eligible for breast reconstruction are not told about their options, but a campaign launched by the American Society of Plastic Surgeons aims to change that statistic. Now an online discussion forum will help make sure no one has to face breast reconstruction surgery alone.

Reingold developed the forum to encourage patients to exchange information online. The forum invites patients to share their experiences and discuss their choices in facing breast cancer and reconstruction, while offering breast reconstruction information and decision-making tools.
