The Montgomery County Department of Economic Development (DED) provides information and services to advance the county's reputation as a gateway to the Mid-Atlantic's robust business community, at the epicenter of the region's federal and advanced technology marketplace.
Challenge
DED needed a strategic action plan to deliver targeted, effective messages to county businesses and job-seekers that spur them to use the services of MontgomeryWorks, Montgomery County's one-stop workforce development system.
Enter Reingold
Reingold began with qualitative research to assess the department's communications practices, messaging, and materials. Then we created a multi-year action plan for the system, new logos and taglines, brochures, and targeted messages geared to businesses and job-seekers—printed in English and Spanish. Next we designed, wrote, and launched a new MontgomeryWorks website, using the new logo, tagline, and brand and integrating all of the Department's workforce development resources.
Results
Our website's audience-driven navigation system is simple to use and allows the two main audiences—job-seekers and employers—to quickly find the pages most important to them. Job-seekers can search job listings updated daily through the Maryland Workforce Exchange; view monthly calendars for workshops, training, and recruitment events; and learn more about MontgomeryWorks programs.
