“The Reingold team delivers for us – from ideas to execution, they’ve partnered in our growth and success.”
Robert Nixon,

Executive Director

The Issue: Environmental troubles often go hand-in-hand with neglect, indifference, and other human difficulties. Sustainable conservation is nearly impossible without a concurrent investment in people.

Client Approach: The Earth Conservation Corps restores two threatened resources—our environment and our youth. They partner with government, corporate, environmental, and community organizations to clean up the environment, educate and train young Corps members, open doors to employment, and strengthen communities by increasing civic awareness and action, while creating pride of place.

Enter Reingold: Team Reingold crafted funding proposals and built the organization’s development capacity to raise more than $8.5 million. We wrote the organization’s Squad handbooks, designed the job skills curriculum, facilitated board meetings, organized and publicized major media events, and conducted an executive search for the ECC’s Chief Operating Officer. We also mentored kids and helped pull trash from the Anacostia River.

Solution: More than 800 young people have graduated from ECC’s year-long program, and collectively earned $2.5 million in AmeriCorps Education Awards. They have reintroduced the bald eagle, our national bird, to New York Harbor and to the capital area. Corps members from five Indian nations are restoring salmon to broad stretches of the Columbia River in the Pacific Northwest, and others are reclaiming neglected islands and shores of the Anacostia River in Washington, DC.
